History & Legacy
Since 1938, Jim’s Steak & Spaghetti House has been a beloved staple in Huntington, West Virginia, known for its timeless charm, homemade comfort food, and rich history. Founded by Jim Tweel, the restaurant began as a 24-hour eatery, but it wasn’t long before its signature spaghetti and sauce stole the show, becoming a favorite among locals and visitors alike.
Through the decades, Jim’s became more than just a restaurant—it became a tradition. Families gathered, friendships formed, and generations returned to their favorite booth or barstool to enjoy the same classic dishes they grew up with. The restaurant’s commitment to consistency, ambiance, quality, and warm hospitality made it a landmark in Huntington, even attracting famous faces, from JFK to Muhammed Ali.
For nearly 80 years, the Tweel family upheld Jim’s legacy, preserving its welcoming atmosphere and signature flavors.
In 2024, the restaurant entered a new era with Vicki Dunn-Marshall, her daughter and son-in-law, Carissa & Corey Cavin, at the helm as the new owners. Dunn-Marshall, a seasoned restaurateur with deep roots in the community, recognized the restaurant’s significance and embraced the opportunity.
Today, Vicki Dunn-Marshall and family continue to honor Jim’s legacy by preserving the recipes and atmosphere that have made us a West Virginia icon. Whether you’re a first-time visitor or a lifelong fan, we invite you to experience the history, the flavors, and the family spirit that make Jim’s Spaghetti so special.
With every plate of spaghetti, slice of homemade pie, and friendly greeting at the door, Jim’s Steak & Spaghetti House continues to be a place where memories are made, stories are shared, and a taste of Huntington's history is always on the menu.
